Paws & Purpose: Bringing Rescue Dogs Hope This Holiday

A Dog Is a Promise, Not a Present

At AlphA and Omega Dog Training, we believe every adoption begins with love — but thrives with commitment. The holidays are a beautiful time to welcome a dog into your family, but before the excitement of bows and wrapping paper fades, it’s important to pause and remember:

A dog isn’t a gift. They’re a lifelong companion.

Each year, shelters and rescues see a heartbreaking trend — dogs adopted or gifted during the holidays are often surrendered once the excitement wears off. These dogs aren’t “bad” or “unwanted”; they simply need structure, understanding, and a family prepared to meet their needs.

Bringing a dog home should always come from intention, not impulse. A dog is not just for the holidays — they’re for every day after.

Our Rescue Partnerships

AlphA and Omega Dog Training is proud to partner with:

  • Rescue Me Pawsome Style (Cleveland, OH)

  • Maxx & Me Pet Rescue (Tampa Bay, FL)

As part of this partnership, we’re offering one free training session for any dog adopted through either rescue, as long as the adopter is located within our training area. This helps pups transition smoothly and gives families support right from the start.

Because with the right knowledge, patience, and guidance, every dog has the potential to thrive.

A Christmas Wish for Todd

Maxx & Me Pet Rescue – Tampa Bay, FL

This holiday season, we’re shining a little extra light on a very special dog who needs our help more than ever. His name is Todd, and although he isn’t ready for adoption yet, he is ready for hope.

His Journey

On October 30th, 2024, Todd was found on the side of the road — paralyzed, alone, and suspected to have been hit by a car. Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center took him in, and Maxx and Me Pet Rescue stepped up without hesitation.

He underwent emergency spinal surgery and began intensive rehabilitation, including:

  • Twice-weekly physical therapy

  • Underwater treadmill sessions

  • Acupuncture

  • Laser therapy

Despite needing his bladder expressed several times a day, Todd made steady progress. He even took a few steps when placed in a standing position — and once, he pulled himself up all on his own.

Setbacks and Strength

Four months ago, Todd’s left hip dislocated, halting his progress. After multiple attempts to correct it, his right hip dislocated as well. Three weeks ago, he underwent major corrective surgery.

Today, Todd is resting, healing, and trying again. We don’t know if he will ever walk fully on his own — but we do know this: Todd hasn’t given up. So neither will we.

His Christmas Wish: The Chance to Keep Fighting

Maxx & Me has already spent thousands on Todd’s care, and his ongoing therapy is essential.

This Christmas, Todd’s wish is simple: the chance to keep going. Your donation directly supports his medical care, therapy, and recovery.
